Malerkotla police to organise open for all cyclothon to combat drug abuse-SSP

The Malerkotla Police has announced a community cyclothon event to raise awareness about the menace of drugs and inspire residents to build a drug-free future. The “Malerkotla Police Cyclothon – Say No to Drugs” will be held on 06 December 2023 at 9 AM starting from the Zakir Hussain Stadium.
“Drug abuse destroys lives, families and communities. It is time for Malerkotla to come together to address this societal scourge,” said SSP Malerkotla Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh while addressing media persons today. “We aim to rally every section of the community including students, elders, professionals, religious leaders, NGOs and health experts through this Cyclothon to push for change and uphold our vibrant city’s culture.”
All people from across Malerkotla have invited to participate in the public ride which has a 5KM route. Attendees will include senior police officials, local dignitaries, celebrities and guests who will help flag off the event and cycle alongside residents. Awareness activities and performances have also been planned along the route to amplify messaging.
“Every Malerkotlan who believes in a progressive drug-free future and cares about saving young lives is urged to attend.
Let us unite with purpose and energy to safeguard community health,” SSP Khakh concluded, inviting all to attend the first-of-its kind city Cyclothon.
