Manipur CM requests central govt to continue his good work; enumerates achievements in his resignation letter

A trouble-torn North Eastern state, Manipur chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh resigned on Sunday. He submitted his resignation after meeting with the state’s governor Ajay Bhalla, a former home secretary in the state capital Imphal.
“I am extremely grateful to the Central government for timely actions, interventions, developmental work and implementation of various projects for safeguarding the interest of every single Manipuri,” Singh’s resignation letter read.
He further added that “my sincere request to the Central government through your good office (Governor) is to continue with the same. I take the opportunity to enumerate the most important ones of them. Further he highlighted five points.
Initial reports suggested that Congress’ threat of a no-confidence motion played a decisive role in his exit.

As per availble information, CM Manipur N Biren Singh met Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister J P Nadda today morning in New Delhi.
He resigned nearly two years after the ethnic violence broke out in the north-eastern state, which rocked not only the north eastern states but whole of India.
