Mata Gujri College conducted Survey of Five villages under UBA

Fatehgarh Sahib-The students conducted the survey of five villages namely Sidhwan, Panjoli Kalan, Dhunda, Bharionpur and Jakhwali under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA).

This new scheme has been introduced by the Government of India for the comprehensive development of the rural areas of the country. The students of the Mata Gujri College focused their survey to understand the problems faced by the rural society. The Director-Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh stated that the students collected the detailed information of the socio-economic profile of each household. The students also provided detailed information about the government schemes, environment protection, cleanliness and health problems to the respective villagers. The students will try to establish such mechanism through which it would be easy to implement schemes of the state.

Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana, Head of the Geography department stated that the students will try their level best to develop the local resources and to encourage the sustainable development of the adopted villages.

Prof. Taranpreet Kaur, Dr Satnam Singh, Prof. Joga Singh, Prof. Harsimran Singh, Dr. Navjit Kaur, Dr Inderjit Singh and Prof Avneet Kaur encouraged and helped the students during the process of surveying. The Sarpanchas and local residents of the respective villages also cooperated the students during data collection.
