Mata Gujri College has been a torch bearer for all Institutions of higher education of the region. It has been the first college in North India to have been conferred Autonomous Status by University Grants Commission. Located in the holy city of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the college boasts of a lush green campus, spread over 25 acres, which provides a serene academic environment to the students. Bibi Gurbachan Kaur Mann, a philanthropist with a mission to educate and empower the rural youth, started this college in 1957. Little did she realise that her humble beginning would turn to be a premier institute that would gain national and international accolades. The college is dedicated to the service of humanity by offering value based quality education. Discipline is the hallmark of the institute.
Later in 1964, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), took the responsibility to take this mission to new heights. The college has reached the highest echelons in academia under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President SGPC. The team work of Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President of College Governing body, Ranjit Singh Libra, Honorary Secretary, College Management Committee and Dr. Jatinder Singh Sidhu, Director Principal has made this college a trend setter for others.
