Mata Gujri College is overall champion of Zonal Youth Festival

SGPC’s leading institution Mata Gujri College won overall championship trophy in three days zonal youth and folk festival at the Ropar-Fatehgarh Sahib Zone of Punjabi University, Patiala. On the occasion of outstanding success of Mata Gujri College, SGPC President Gobind Singh Longowal congratulated to the college and said, “It is the matter of pride that Mata Gujri College has won this trophy, chasing 58 colleges.”

On this occasion, while congratulating to the students, teachers and coaches, Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said, “Along with winning overall championship trophy, college has also won overall trophies for theatre, fine arts, performing arts, exhibition arts while music, literary and folk sports won runner up trophies.”

On this marvellous victory, Director of Education, Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal congratulated to the college and said, “The College has continued its tradition of winning and once again has raised pride of SGPC by hoisting the flag of victory.” While expressing happiness, Ranjit Singh Libra, Honorary secretary, also congratulated to the college.

Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana, Dean Cultural, said, “In this youth and folk festival, students participated in all 64 competitions. Students stood first among the 24 contests, second among the 22 contests and 3rd among the 5 contests. Name of The Mata Gujri College echoed in these three days of youth festival. Ajay Kumar and Mandeep Kaur declared best actor and best actress respectively while Navdeep Kaur declared best Gidha dancer.

Dr. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Examination Controller, said, “All the credit of this victory in these competitions goes to the hard work of students, teachers and coaches.”
