Mata Gujri College successfully conducts 56th Annual Sports Competition

The 56th Annual Sports Competition was organized at Mata Gujri College in which the Honorary Secretary of College Governing Body Jagdeep Singh Cheema graced the occasion of the chief guest. Former Junior Vice President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Avtar Singh Ria, District Bar Association President Advocate Amardeep Singh Dharni and District Sports Officer Gurdeep Kaur attended the occasion as special guests.
Honorary Secretary of College Governing Body Jagdeep Singh Cheema congratulated all college staff members and students for successfully organizing the annual sports competitions and said that Mata Gujri College is a great educational institution of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee which has continuously made valuable contributions in the field of religion, education and sports
Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh warmly welcomed the chief guest and informed about the outstanding achievements of college in the field of academic, religious, cultural and sports at the national and international level. While highlighting the college achievements, he said that Mata Gujri College is a great educational institution which has been reaccredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC for three times consecutively, Autonomous College status, Accreditation by Punjab State Council for Agricultural Education, Star college status by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India etc. Apart from this, since the last few years, the college has been continuously winning the overall trophies of inter-regional and regional youth festivals.
Former Junior Vice President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Avtar Singh Ria congratulated all students and said that they should continue to brighten the name of the college by making excellent achievements in the field of sports in the future. He expressed the hope that the youth of Punjab would eradicate leprosy like drugs from the state of Punjab through sports and create a healthy and colorful Punjab.
The best athlete among boys was awarded to Garry Singh of BA Part II and the Runner up honor was awarded to Aditya Sood BCA Part II. Similarly, the honor of the best athlete among girls was won by Kajal of BA Honors Social Science Part I and the Runner Up title was won by Navjeet Kaur of B.A. Honors Social Science Part I respectively.
