MBS Punjab Sports University celebrated Teacher’s Day with a vibrant cultural event

The atmosphere at The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University,Patiala was filled with joy and appreciation as the institution celebrated Teacher’s Day with a vibrant cultural event and a friendly volleyball match among the teachers on 5th September 2023.
The day began with a distinctive activity of role reversal . Students stepped into the shoes of their teachers, taking on teaching responsibilities for the day. Students dressed up like their teachers and took on the responsibility of teaching their respective classes. This not only offered teachers a much-needed respite but also granted students valuable insight into the intricacies and gratifications of the teaching vocation. This exercise fostered empathy and a deeper understanding of the dedication required to educate and nurture young minds.
This was followed by a cultural extravaganza organized by the students, showcasing their talents and paying tribute to the dedicated teachers who have played a pivotal role in shaping their lives. The event featured dance performances, soulful musical renditions, and inspiring speeches expressing gratitude to the esteemed faculty members.
Following the cultural event, a friendly volleyball match took place in the evening at the Professor Gursewak College of Physical Education, Patiala.The match between the faculty teams of the University and the College was a testament to the camaraderie and team spirit among the teachers. The enthusiastic cheers from the students and fellow faculty members added to the excitement and friendly competition on the court.
The volleyball match was not only a fun-filled activity but also an opportunity for the teachers to bond and unwind outside the classroom. It provided a platform for them to showcase their sporting prowess and strengthen the sense of community within the institution. The winning faculty team of the University was felicitated with Gold medals while the runner up college team bagged silver medals .
Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. ( Dr) J. S Cheema and the Principal of the Professor Gursewak College Dr Anubhav Walia graced the occasion. The Vice Chancellor expressed his delight, saying that it was wonderful to see the students and teachers come together to celebrate this special day.
