MC’s tough stand; no leniency for violators; lodges maiden FIR against offender-Mayor

First time in the history of royal city Patiala, a FIR is lodged against a resident, who didn’t follow the civic rules.
As per information a First Information Report (FIR) is lodged against Kamaljit Singh, resident of Kanehra Mohalla, in the city, on the complaint of municipal corporation officials.
As per officials, today Kotwali police lodges a FIR under section 3 of Public Property (Prevention of Damage) act 1985, against the said person, for disposing off the dairy waste in the sewer line and obstructing the flow of waste, in the sewer line, on the complaint of Municipal Corporation authorities.
Patiala Municipal Corporation has already asked the dairy owners operating within the city, to shift their dairies at Ablowal village, where they will be given plots at government-controlled rates
Just 3 days ago mayor along with sanitary team visited Gur Mandi and sanuri adda area and challaned the violators for not disposing off the waste in a proper manner. He even didn’t spare a close relative of another municipal councilor Atul Joshi, for violating the municipal laws, of disposing off the garbage.

Mayor Patiala, Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, said no leniency towards the cleanliness of the royal city will be entertained and “appealed to the dairy owners, eating joints, hotels and other businessman’s to not to dispose of the waste in the drains or in the sewer line. If anybody found violating the municipal corporation instructions, they will have to face the music and action will be taken against them.”
