Mega Job Fair at MRSPTU, 14 companies participated

Punjab government is committed to provide employment in every household for which state level job fairs are being held across Punjab at 36 venues from Nov 12 to Nov 22, 2018 that targets at giving employment to more than 80, 000 candidates. Deputy Speaker Vidhan Sabha, Ajaib Singh Bhatti said while inaugurating the phase of job fair at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University Bathinda. Earlier under phase one job fair was held at Guru Kashi University Talwandi Sabo on Nov 12 and Nov 13, 2018.

Deputy Speaker said that under Ghar Ghar Rozgar initiative of the Punjab government, emphasis was not only being laid on creating jobs but also helping candidates attain soft skills and basic computer knowledge free of cost at the District Employment Bureau Bathinda. He called upon the youngsters to join the jobs they were being offered, get the requisite experiences and move on to next jobs for higher packages.

Veenu Badal, wife of Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, also participated in the event and encouraged youngsters to find the right kind of job. She appreciated role and efforts of MRSPTU for partnering the responsibility of this region in this flagship scheme of the Punjab Government to provide jobs.

Vice chancellor MRSPTU Dr Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said that the job fair has elicited good response and large number of youngsters have flocked the venue appearing for interviews with various companies. He lauded the efforts of District Bureau for Employment and Enterprise.

At MRSPTU, 14 companies participated today hunting for candidates with master’s degrees, bachelor’s degree, diploma and 10+2 qualifications.

Prominent among others present included Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Praneet, ADC (D) Sakshi Sawhney, campus Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology Dr Gursharan Singh, dean Dr RK Bansal, Dr. A. K.  Goyal, Dr. Savina Bansal, Dr. Manjeet Bansal and directors and senior faculty members were also present on the occasion.
