Mega Parent-Teacher Meet held in Patiala Government Schools

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and guidance of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting was organized across all government schools of Patiala district. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, who engaged actively with teachers to discuss their children’s academic and co-curricular progress.
Sanour MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Nabha MLA Gurdev Singh Dev Maan, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, Mayor Kundan Gogia, Deputy Mayor Jagdeep Jagga, and ADC (General) Isha Singal visited various schools, interacted with parents, students, and teachers, and appreciated their efforts. They also reviewed the annual progress reports of students.
MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra emphasized that such meetings play a vital role in the holistic development of students, as combined efforts of parents and teachers deeply impact a child’s life and future. MLA Gurdev Singh Dev Maan highlighted that Punjab is witnessing an educational revolution under the present government, with the launch of the School of Eminence initiative aimed at nurturing students’ talents and enhancing learning outcomes.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav encouraged students to pursue their goals with dedication, stating that hard work is the key to achieving success in life. She motivated students to remain focused and committed to their aspirations.
DEO (Secondary Education) Sanjeev Sharma informed that the meeting was conducted following the directives of Secretary School Education Anindita Mitra. It coincided with the declaration of annual results for classes 6th, 7th, 9th, and 11th. Students’ progress cards were distributed to parents to inform them about their children’s academic and co-curricular development.
School principals and teachers warmly welcomed parents and briefed them about the initiatives of the Punjab Government aimed at students’ overall development, including smart classrooms, extracurricular activities, and career guidance programs. From early morning, parents visited schools, interacted openly with teachers, shared suggestions, and appreciated the efforts of the education department.
Students also presented innovative activities such as Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM), artworks from waste materials, paintings, business blaster stalls, and welcome displays. The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue between parents and teachers regarding students’ academic, psychological, and personal growth.
Parents lauded the initiative, terming it a great success, and recommended that such meetings be organized regularly to further strengthen school-parent partnerships.
