In a press statement issued by him, he stated that due to his efforts, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued a tender worth Rs 32.30 crore for the maintenance of the dilapidated National Highway-503 from Kiratpur Sahib to Mehatpur. This tender will be for one year, ensuring the repair and reconstruction of this crucial road. Meanwhile, work on the four-lane project will also commence.

Harjot Bains had been actively working for a long time to get this road repaired. After his persistent pressure on the central government, National Highway-503 was included in the four-lane project, clearing the way for its expansion and reconstruction. Now, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a Short-Term Maintenance Contract for its upkeep.
