Minister instructs Local Government department to stop illegal construction

Punjab local Bodies minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar directed the officials of the Local Government Department to stop the construction of illegal buildings by not permitting anyone to construct a building without approval. He was presiding over a meeting of department officials here on Wednesday.
The Punjab local Bodies minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that along with the administrative officers, the employees should also improve their procedures so that the work of the people can be done in the government offices without any hindrance. On this occasion, he gave instructions to start the sewage treatment plants with full capacity and also to keep the entire sewage system functioning properly.
The Minister said that besides stopping corruption, their government has also made the administration efficient and accountable for the people’s work. He said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has issued clear guidelines to the administrative officers that the people coming to work in the offices should not be harassed in any way. He said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the local government department has also been working diligently and people’s work was being done on priority basis. He said that the irregularities done in the past will also be investigated and at present, no stone was left unturned to provide transparent administration.

On this occasion, MLA Sangrur Narinder Kaur Bharaj, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Jitendra Jorwal, SSP Sangrur Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Senior leaders Gurmail Singh Gharachon, Avtar Singh Elwal, Hardeep Singh Bharur, Mahinder Singh Sidhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Latif Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, SDM Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner Devdarshdeep Singh and other officials were also present.
