Minister urged NGOs, health department and public to collaborate in eradicating malnutrition

The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is giving special attention to the health and well-being of children. Accordingly,  Social Security, Women and Child Development Department organized a workshop at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh, regarding the elimination of malnutrition and anemia.

Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, stated this information, emphasizing that the Punjab Government is sincerely working to eradicate malnutrition and anemia in the state. She highlighted that malnutrition affects people of all ages and efforts are being made to eliminate it. The department is actively raising awareness among the people of the state about the importance of nutrition to eradicate malnutrition. People are being educated about promoting the consumption of nutritious food, reducing malnutrition among women and children, breastfeeding and providing nutritional services and supplements.

Cabinet Minister urged non-governmental organizations, the health department, and the public to collaborate in eradicating malnutrition for a healthy future for the upcoming generations.

The Minister instructed the department to work more diligently to halt malnutrition and anemia in Punjab. On this occasion, discussions were held by Health Department, Education Department, doctors from the PGI Chandigarh and Medical Education and Research, Patiala .

On this occasion Special Chief Secretary of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Raji P. Shrivastava,  Social Security, Women and Child Development Department Director Shena Agarwal, Deputy Director Sukhdeep Singh Jhajj and State Consultant of Poshan Abhiyan Priyanka were specially present.
