Modi College Wins Punjabi University Cycling (Road) Women Championship

Multani Mal Modi College has won the Inter-College Cycling (Road) Women Championships held at Rajpura Byepass Road on Jan. 26, 2020. The winning team comprised of Bristi Kongkona Gogoi and Tarwinder Kaur. It is also mentionable here that college sportsperson Brishti has also won Silver Medal in Kehlo India Games held at Guwahati, Assam.
The college Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar informed ” Modi College Wins Punjabi University Cycling (Road) Women Championship” and appreciated the sports persons and said that these sportspersons will be duly rewarded during the Annual Prize Distribution Function of the College. Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean, Sports Committee of the College, congratulated the winning teams. The Principal also applauded the sincere efforts of Head of Sports Department Dr. Nishan Singh, Dr. Harneet Singh and Prof (Ms) Mandeep Kaur for providing guidance and other facilities needed for regular practice of sports persons.

Located in the heart of the city, Multani Mal Modi College is a multi-faculty, co-educational institution established by Padma Bhushan, Rai Bahadur Seth Gujjar Mal Modi, in the fond memory of his illustrious father, Rai Bahadur Seth Multani Mal Modi. The foundation stone of the college was laid by Dr Dharam Vir, ICS, the then Governor of Punjab, on Sept 21, 1966 and the first academic session commenced in July 1967.
