Modi College won trophies for securing top scores in inter college sports competitions

Multani Mal Modi College has won two General Sports Championship Trophies entitled ‘Maharaja Yadvindra Singh Trophy’ (Boys) and ‘Rajkumari Amrit Kaur Trophy’ (Girls) for 2016-17. The trophies were awarded by Dr. B. S. Ghuman, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala to the College Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar at Sunny Oberoi Arts Auditorium, Punjabi University, Patiala during its Annual Sports Prize Distribution Function. Modi College won these trophies for maximum participation and top most scores in various Inter-College Sports Competitions.
The College and its sports officials gave the winning sports persons a rousing welcome. On this occasion, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar congratulated as well as appreciated Prof. Nishan Singh, Head of the Sports Department and his entire team comprising Prof. Harneet Singh and Mandeep Kaur for their tireless efforts. He also praised the winning sports persons for their various contribution and achievements and assured them that the college will provide them with every possible help required to sustain their performance. He ecstatically expressed to the entire faculty that the college has won ‘Maharaja Yadvindra Singh Trophy’ six times and has thrice won the ‘Rajkumari Amrit Kaur Trophy’. He revealed that Punjabi University, Patiala has awarded Rs. 3,52,000/- cash prize to college for obtaining highest scores, maximum wins in Inter-College Championships and maximum participation in various kinds of sports.
In the congratulatory speech, Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sandhu, Dean Sports said that these kinds of achievements are only possible through the collective efforts of the college administration and the entire faculty.
