MOU signed between Panjab and Punjabi Universities

Two leading and renowned Universities of India-Punjabi University Patiala and Panjab University, Chandigarh have agreed to start a  joint capacity building programmes for the betterment of faculty and research scholars of both the universities. It will also help in exploring enhanced horizons and frontiers of knowledge on sharing basis.For this they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The brain behind this initiative was of Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University, Prof Arun Kumar Grover, that this exercise was carried out in shape of a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor BS Ghuman of Punjabi University, Patiala .

Present in the meeting were GS Batra, Dean, Research and Dr Rakesh Mohan Sharma, Associate Dean, Research from Punjabi University and Prof Ramanjit Johal, Director, research promotion cell of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Prof. Ghuman said that in its first-of-kind venture it was also decided that both the universities will engage in exploring possibilities followed by finalising modalities for sharing resources and facilities among the research scholars and faculty of different disciplines and hold joint seminars and workshops on regular basis.

“It was the need of the hour to enter into such kind of an agreement between the two neighboring universities in the state to save on economic fronts and widen the network of sources and resources to an optimum level,” Prof Ghuman said.
