A joint meeting was organized today by the Joint Coordination Committee of the Resident Welfare Association of Ward No. 23 at the Community Centre in Sector 43, Chandigarh. Member of Parliament and former Union Minister Manish Tewari attended the meeting as the chief guest, while area Councillor Premlata participated as the special guest.

A large number of local residents, especially youth, actively participated in the meeting and shared their concerns with the MP.

Responding to the issues raised, MP Tewari said that he has been vigorously raising all Chandigarh-related matters in Parliament. He particularly criticized the increasing electricity bills and fixed charges, terming them unjustified. He stated that since the power company has not made any significant infrastructure improvements or expansions, there is no valid reason to hike these charges. He assured that these matters would be strongly raised during the upcoming JERC meeting on July 25.

Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky praised MP Tewari, stating that the city is fortunate to have a sincere and sensible leader who is not only utilizing his MP grant funds for local development but also persistently voicing public issues in Parliament and other platforms.
