MRS-PTU, USA varsity held a “Greet and Meet” programme to explore mutual areas of Collaboration

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS-PTU) Bathinda and Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit USA organised a “Greet and Meet” programme to explore more areas of Collaboration for study programmes and research projects.

The  “Meet and Greet” meeting was held between the officials of both the universities in online mode late Friday evening.

Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu, Vice Chancellor, MRS-PTU conveyed his interest to expand the domain of collaboration with WSU in other branches for the student transfer program, in the field of research, faculty exchange program and cultural exchange.

Dr.  Ali Abolmaali, Dean College of Engineering, WSU assured full cooperation with the students of MRS-PTU who would join at WSU under these MoUs.

Dr.  Harpreet Singh, Professor, WSU also attended the meeting and recalled his association with Indian Universities during his graduation days.

MRS-PTU,  Bathinda had signed historic MoUs with Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit USA for three branches of engineering i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering.

Under these MoUs, the student would study at MRS-PTU for first three years and fourth year at WSU to get the under graduate degree in respective branch of engineering from WSU and after two years of study at WSU, he would get under graduate ( UG) and Post Graduate (PG)  both degree from WSU. Many students are joining MRS-PTU to get the benefit of these MoUs.

It may be mentioned here that WSU is situated in Detroit city of USA, which is best known as the center of the U.S. automobile industry, and the “Big Three” auto manufacturers General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis North America are all headquartered in Metro Detroit. After studying at WSU, students will avail ample opportunities of employment in the USA.

Director, Corporate Resource Center, Prof. Rajesh Gupta, MRS-PTU Dean Academics, Dr. Kawaljit Singh Sandhu, Shri Devinder Pal Singh, Chairman, Desh Bhagat Group of Colleges, Directors and Principals of affiliated colleges, Dr Sehijpal Singh, Principal, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana, Tanuja Srivastava, Director,  Bhai Gurdas Institute of Engineering & Technology, Sangrur and the students who are interested to get the benefits of these MoUs attended the meeting.
