Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna: Nawanshahr DC reviews health Card enrolment, calls scheme a game changer for free healthcare

Nawanshahr Deputy Commissioner Gulpreeet Singh Aulakh on Friday convened a meeting with the MLAs and halqa in-charges of Nawanshahr, Banga and Balachaur to review the progress of health card enrolment under the Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna, terming the initiative a “game changer” in providing free healthcare to the people of Punjab.
The meeting focused on chalking out strategies to enhance public enrolment and ensure wider coverage across the district. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Balveer Raj Singh, SDMs and the Civil Surgeon were also present.
Emphasising the importance of the scheme, the Deputy Commissioner said beneficiaries would be entitled to cashless medical treatment worth up to Rs.10 lakh in empanelled private hospitals across the state. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the preparation of health cards and ensure that the enrolment process is carried out in an efficient and time-bound manner.
Detailed consultations were held with the MLAs to boost enrolment figures. Acting on their suggestions, a schedule will be prepared next week and special camps will be organised under their supervision to facilitate issuance of health cards to eligible beneficiaries.
MLA Banga Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi directed the officers to leave no stone unturned to cover each and every resident of the district under this ambitious program. He mentioned that this scheme would go a long way in further strengthening healthcare services in the Punjab, thereby making our state a frontrunner in health services.
District Planning Board Chairman Satnam Singh Jalalpur, Vice Chairman Technical Education and Industrial Training Lalit Mohan Pathak, SDM Banga Vipin Bhandari, SDM Nawanshahr Anamyot Kaur, SDM Balachaur Kritika Goel and other dignitaries attended the meeting.
