NABARD Bathinda branch organized online Micro Enterprise Development Programme

NABARD organized its 39th Foundation Day (12 July) in Bathinda through Online launch of Micro Entreprise Development Programme (MEDP) for capacity building and skill upgradation of 30 Women Self Help Group members.
During the inauguration, Amit Garg, DDM, NABARD Bathinda, Jai Shankar Sharma, LDM, Bathinda, Manov Maity, Area Program Manager, Ambuja Cement Foundation and various beneficiary participants were present through virtual mode.
Amit Garg, DDM informed that programme has been sanctioned to Ambuja Cement Foundation to enable Women SHG members to take up income generating activity for livelihood through intensive training and skill upgradation. The programme will enable them to have better understanding of the market, assess of demand for product type and quality, presentation of product, pricing and other financial aspects including bank loan to establish and promote their livelihood activity. Through this programme, an effort will be made to enhance the incomes of the SHG members and improve the livelihood of those families. This programme will make members capable to address new market challenges through better understanding. He also encouraged SHG members to fully utilize this opportunity to gain maximum knowledge of the activity. He told the SHG members to avail bank loan to promote the activity and also to adhere to guidelines of the Government in respect of Covid -19 pandemic and thanked support of District Administration.
Jai Shankar Sharma, LDM, Bathinda congratulated NABARD for its 39th Foundation Day and also participants for being lucky for being participants of the programme. He emphasized that such a program will lead to economic growth of particpants and also lead to women empowerment. He encouraged SHG members to use the program for their skill upgradation and assured support of banking institutions in extending loan to eligible borrowers for setting up the enterprise. He also mentioned about high recovery rate in SHG loans and adherence to credit discipline.
Manav Maity, Ambuja Cement Foundation thanked NABARD for sanction of programme to it which will instill further confidence among SHG members, increase the incomes and also will explore the conduct of virtual classes for benefit of participants and ensure adherence to Covid-19 guidelines of Government.
