Nangal to be developed in a planned manner- Harjot Bains

Punjab Minister for Legal and Legislative Affairs, Mining and Geology, Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Jails Harjot Singh Bains has directed the officers of various departments of the Anandpur Sahib constituency to give priority to work in the public interest. He said that special efforts should be made to provide basic amenities to every needy person.
In a special meeting with the officials of Anandpur Sahib and Nangal sub divisions of the constituency Cabinet Minister said that in order to develop Nangal as a tourist destination, the town would be developed in a planned manner.
He directed the Executive Officer of Municipal Council Nangal to work for this with the opinion of experts at the ground level.
He said that there was a dearth of sanitation in Nangal while the townl had ample sources of income. There is no library in the town, the survey will look for the possibility of a building to build a digital library or a place to build it.
He said that despite the immense source of income in Nangal Municipal Council, the town was not developed properly but there were complaints of misuse of funds which would be investigated at the highest level. The burden of additional expenses on the Municipal Council will be reduced. A similar library would be set up at Sri Anandpur Sahib, which would be useful for the students.
He said that the shortage of drinking water in Nangal town and adjoining areas would be removed. For this a plan would be made to connect the villages with canal water.
Bains directed to take action against unauthorised travel agents and IELTSs centres and said that such agents were playing with the future of innocent people and students. A board with registration number and phone number of administration should be demonstrated outside such centres.
He said that apart from breaking the supply chain, work should be started at the grass root level to eradicate drug menace and action should be taken against drug traffickers.
He said the person who lodged the complaint against drugs would not be asked to disclose his identity. On this occasion DSP Ajay Singh, Satish Kumar, Executive Officer Ashok Pathrian, Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, Bachittar Singh, Harpreet Happy, Sohan Singh Bains, Balwinder Kaur Bains, Satish Chopra, Advocate Neeraj Sharma, Madhu Bala, Sunita Devi , Billa Mahilma, Jujhar, Nitin Sharma, Ankush Pathak, Jashan were also present.
