Following the intervention of Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Member of the BJP Parliamentary Board and former Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), the National Commission for Minorities has taken cognizance of the violent incident that occurred at a Gurdwara Sahib complex in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas.

In his letter addressed to the Commission, Lalpura described the incident as a serious violation of religious freedom, social harmony, and constitutional values. He urged the Commission to ensure an impartial inquiry into the matter and to seek a detailed report from the state administration. Acting on this representation, the National Commission for Minorities has written to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, directing it to submit a comprehensive investigation report along with details of the action taken at the earliest.

In its communication, the Commission made it clear that any act of violence or intolerance at a religious place will be viewed with utmost seriousness, and that strict legal action must be ensured against those responsible. The Commission has also instructed the district administration and police authorities to take all necessary measures and to maintain peace and law and order in the area.

The incident occurred on Veer Bal Diwas when a peaceful religious programme and lecture series were being organized at the Gurdwara Sahib in Bijnor to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas. During the programme, anti-social and communal elements allegedly disrupted the event and carried out an attack.
