National integration award by Himotkarsh to Dainik Jagran Resident Editor Amit Sharma

Senior journalist Amit Sharma who is currently working as Resident Editor Dainik Jagran in Punjab , Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary B.K Agarwal, and a leading cardiologist Dr. Rana Sandip Singh of PGI Chandigarh are among seven personalities who have been named as recipients of the prestigious National Integration Awards being annually conferred by Himachal Pradesh’s oldest and prestigious organization ‘The Himotkarsh Parishad’
While Agarwal will be honoured for his distinguished services in Jan Sewa (Public service) category, Amit Sharma will be conferred upon ‘Shresth Patrkaarita award (journalism) for his unblemished record and exemplary contribution in serving the society and nation with his writings. A Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Rana who is heading the department in prestigious PGI in Chandigarh has been chosen for award in field of medicine. The martyr Brijesh , who laid down his life during anti terror operations in Kashmir last year , will be posthumously conferred upon the award in bravery section.
Operating in hill state since 1974 Himotkarsh instituted the awards in 1988 and has since then bestowed the honour to India’s top personalities and organizations for their excellence in their respective areas of functioning. According to Himotkarsh spokesperson Jatinder Kanwar the awards will be conferred upon during organization’s 45th annual congregation being held in Una district on March 1.
