National symposium on Plant Biotechnology & Agriculture concluded at Thapar Institute

The three day National Symposium on Trends in Plant Biotechnology & Agriculture and 41st Meeting of Plant Tissue Culture Association of India was concluded today at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Patiala. During the symposium about 10 Plenary 20 keynote and many oral presentations was conducted. These deliberations were focussed on the various challenges faced by plant scientists and Agriculturalist.

Another important aspect of the Symposium was sessions on young scientists and four young scientists were awarded during these presentations, which included Dr. Amanpreet Kaur from TIET and Guriqbal from Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana. Six prizes were given for the poster presentation encouraging young people. Prof. S. K. Nandi, the chief guest of valedictory function addressed and highlighted important recommendations of the symposium.

The conference was chaired by Prof. M. S. Reddy. The convener of this National Symposium was Prof. Anil Kumar. The symposium was concluded with vote of thanks by organizing secretary, Dr Shekhar Agnihotri.

National Symposium on Trends in Plant Biotechnology & Agriculture which was being conducted by TIFAC-Centre of Excellence (TIFAC-CORE) in Agro and Industrial Biotechnology and Department of Biotechnology, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala in association with Plant Tissue Culture Association of India [PTCA(I)] from 06-08th February 2020 at the Institute.
