Punjab Pradesh congress committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu‘s latest message on social media has created anxiousness in the minds of residents of Punjab. The Special Task Force (STF) report on Majithia in the ₹6,000-crore Bhola drug racket is likely to be opened by a division bench of the Punjab and Haryana high court, today. Navjot Singh Sidhu is feeling happy that atleast the report is going to open after 2.5 years of waiting.
Sidhu tweeted “Today, STF Report on Drugs will finally see light of day after 2.5 yrs of delay in sealed covers; court naming main culprits behind drug trade will be first victory for youth & suffering mothers of Punjab. Hope they are given punishment that acts as a deterrent for generations!!”
The report pertains to February 2018, when the STF filed a status report in the Punjab and Haryana high court. Later, the government filed before the court an opinion-cum-status report, and the matter is still in the court.
Navjot Sidhu feeling happy; waiting anxiously for the outcome of the case. Sidhu has been demanding “What action had the Punjab government taken? Must be brought into the public domain. Since submission of reports, what further action did the state take in 2.5 years ? The government must make itself accountable to the public with complete transparency.”
