Needy students will soon get 24-hour services of reading room at district library: Harjot Bains

While inspecting the upgraded district library at Rupnagar , Education Minister Punjab Harjot Singh Bains announced that the reading room of the district library will soon be opened for 24 hours so that the needy students can get free services of internet including desktop computers and other essential facilities.
Education Minister said that children from ordinary homes doing jobs along with studies, but due to the lack of some basic needs, they face difficulties while studying. Keeping these facts in mind, the district library has been modernized, soon these special services will be provided in all the libraries of the state where the students will create their golden future.
On this occasion, Harjot Bains also inspected the other sections of building where he interacted with the students studying in the reading hall of the district library. He asked them about the available facilities, the students present on the occasion expressed their satisfaction regarding the arrangements and thanked the Punjab government. He also met the elders in the Senior Citizen Section where Harnam Singh retd from govt department appreciated the arrangements of the library.
Harjot Bains further said that main priority of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is education and libraries have an important role to increase the expansion of education, for which now 6 libraries are being opened in each constituency within a fixed period of 3 months in state.
He said that earlier the district libraries were only present in paper and had taken the form of ruins, all those libraries have been upgraded with which now people of all classes are enjoying the warmth of books. These libraries are now also prove helpful to students those preparing for competition like UPSC, PCS and other exams.
Cabinet Minister said that in the previous years, the governments did not pay any attention to education, sports and health services, but state government led by Chief Minsiter Bhagwant Singh Mann is paying special attention to these sectors, the results of which will be revealed in the near future.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav said that a booth of Markfed and Verka is being set up in the district library soon, along with this, common room, computer room, free internet, open gym and many other facilities are also being provided for the students.
SDM Rupnagar Harkirat Kaur, District Child Protection Officer Rajinder Kaur, District Education Officer Ranjana Katyal and other senior officials were present on this occasion.
