After winning 59 seats out of 60 seats in Patiala Municipal Corporation elections , the Patiala MLA and Chief Minister of Punjab met the newly elected Patiala Municipal Councilors at his Chandigarh residence.
The councilors were accompanied by Capt. Amrinder Singh wife, Preneet Kaur, health Minister Punjab and MLA Patiala rural Brahm Mohindra, MLA Rajpura Hardial Singh Kamboj, MLA Ghanour Madan Lal Jalalpur, PRTC Chairman KK Sharma.
CM Capt. Amrinder Singh congratulated the newly elected public representatives for their historic and massive win in the just concluded Municipal Corporation elections. He also discussed the major issues related to the development of Patiala and needs urgent attention.
Who will be the new Mayor of Patiala?
After winning 59 seats out of 60 , it’s a difficult to elect Patiala Municipal Corporation mayor. Hectic lobbying is on to become the first citizen of royal city Patiala. Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, a first to won the election of this year MC as unopposed is leading the race. He is close to Preenet Kaur and is a Brahmin face. After Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu statement for reservation of Mayoral post to women in four Municipal Corporation of Punjab- Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala, the situation can turn around. But CM Punjab has to take a final call on this issue.
Even for the post of senior deputy mayor , deputy mayor the hectic lobbying is also on.
