Nissan to focus on pre-owned car business in Punjab
Chandigarh-Nissan announced the opening of Nissan Intelligent Choice (NIC) centres in Punjab market. These centres will be located in all major cities like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
Addressing a press conference here at a Chandigarh based dealership, Hardeep Brar, Director, Sales and Commercial, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd said, “India’s booming pre-owned car market will touch 7 million units by 2020. Given this market opportunity, we would like to be a one-stop platform for the buying and selling of used cars in India. Currently, we have 20 NIC (Nissan Intelligent Choice) outlets in 14 cities across the country and have lined up aggressive plans to expand it to 60 by end of FY18.
We are experiencing exponential demand for pre-owned cars in Punjab. Market demand for our cars has led us to concurrently open NIC centres in the state.”
Pre-owned Nissan and Datsun cars offered under the program are certified after a 167-point check and inspection by Nissan technical experts, and will be sold with up to 12 month/20,000 kilometres warranty, and three free inspections.
NIC is Nissan’s global business model for pre-owned cars and was introduced in India after its success in Brazil and South Africa. It aims to tap India’s growing used-cars market.

However, customers can avail after sales service at any of the 160 Nissan Authorized workshops across India.
