NITTTR Chandigarh celebrates its 54th Annual Day

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, an autonomous institute of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, established in the year 1967 celebrated its 54th Annual Day on September 7, 2021.
On this auspicious occasion, Minister of Education (MoE), Government of India , Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the AR/VR Lab, laid the foundation stone for the faculty residence building and addressed all on the occasion. The Minister while delivering his inaugural address praised the faculty, staff, students and the institute for its remarkable contributions towards the higher technical education system even during the most difficult period of pandemic. He also urged upon the faculty for their benevolent support and contributions for effective and timely implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) for transformational contribution in Digital Mission, Unnat Bharat, Atam Nirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat. The involvement of the Minister to place India as Vishwa Guru was very much in radiance during his inaugural address.
Professor Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Director NITTTR Chandigarh while presenting the Annual Report for the year 2020-21 reiterated his philosophy of working – United we Work, Together we achieve, as Team we Win. The institute trained 74,337 technical faculty participants, generated 7 crores IRG, conducted 55 curriculum workshops, published 269 research publications (215 in international journals, 54 in conferences), submitted 49 research projects, awarded 10 students with PhD degrees, filed 4 patents and many more which are unthinkable during the pandemic period. Professor Pattnaik dedicated the achievement to the sincerity, team work and commitment of its faculty staff and students. He informed that the institute is on the verge of getting its deemed to be university status (De Novo Category). The outstanding contributions enumerated in the Annual Report clearly makes it eminent that the institute if given a status of the University will be one of the promising higher educational institutes in the country to create an admirable impact in the teachers training with their fifty-four years of experience not only in the country but in the international arena too.
Special Guest of Honor – Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director IIT Ropar and Guests of Honor Dr. Ashwani Johar, Member of India Russia Bilateral Council NITI Ayog and A.K. Nasa, Member Secretary, NBA while delivering their address congratulated the employees for their par excellence performance and expressed their hope that the presence of the MoE will work as a catalyst to energize the motivated workforce of the institute, which has a legacy of contributions and very strong work culture.
NITTTR Chandigarh celebrates its 54th Annual Day. During the Annual function, the Institute awarded the best performing employees, meritorious students, best performing Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges of the northern region and winners of the Digital poster Competition.
