With the outbreak of Coronavirus and increasing the number of cases, day by day, the government has been taking no chance with the health of common man, its employees.

Keeping in view the spread of coronavirus Punjab government, its corporations, including the state secretariat has directed that the bio-metric attendance system be suspended with immediate effect, till further orders and further directed to adopt the traditional manual marking.

The chief secretary has also cautioned all the deputy commissioners, commissioners of police, SSP’s and civil surgeons to be alert and keep close tabs on the suspected cases.

Chandigarh Administrator has also directed that the bio-metric attendance system in all government/private institutions be suspended with immediate effect and further directed to adopt the manual marking

Going further, Chandigarh police, who is known for its strictness in maintaining traffic rules in city beautiful, has also been directed to stop the usage of breath analysers being used for checking alcohol level, as a containment measure in controlling the spread of disease till further orders. UT administration has passed the orders after some residents raised concern over unhygienic use of breath analysers by the UT Traffic Police in the current context of rising numbers of Covid cases.

No checking; Coronavirus brought relief for bacchus lover, govt employees.Earlier also, many times the residents raised concern over use of  by the UT Traffic Police at night, particularly after the increase of the drink and driving challan fees, but to no anvil. Now with the discontinuation of usage of breath analysers being used for checking alcohol level,the most happy are the bacchus lover, as now police won’t stop them with breath analysers,after party hours.

Taking a jibe on this a local resident said “why the employees association demanded the discontinuation of bio metric attendance only, when it was advised to avoid crowded places and government offices are crowded too? Because they want to get rid of this bio metric attendance system, since its implementation in government offices.
