No Elections in 8 wards of Patiala MC

“Punjab government has informed the Punjab and Haryana High court that they are going to stall the process of election in around 8 wards of MC Patiala. The state is going to withdraw the elections and new elections will be held” said advocate, Harneet Singh Oberoi.
The statement came after the High Court raised concern over the failure of district administration and district police to properly managing the nomination process.
Oberoi added that “The state has also informed that the police will lodge FIR , take suitable action against the erring officers, officials”.
“The state has also confirmed that they will lodge complaints against the leaders who remained present at the premises where nomination filling was going on” added Oberoi.
As per unconfirmed reports, the ward number 1,6,16,33, 34, ,36,43, 50 may go for poll ,where the candidates are elected unopposed or where the papers were not filed by opposition candidates.
Oberoi further added that 8 wards of Dharamkot MC in Moga district.
