NSCA to support Bharat Bandh on 2nd April-Kainth
Chandigarh – National Scheduled Castes Alliance, a socio-political organization, today decided to participate and support the ‘Bharat Bandh’. Paramjit Singh Kainth, president of the alliance said “Hon’ Supreme Court of India had recently decided to weaken the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 by ‘weakening’ the provisions of the Act relating to Bail and registration of FIR.”
Kainth further told, Punjab has 4 Members of Parliament, 34 Members of Legislative Assembly, it has the largest population of Scheduled Castes community in Punjab. One Member of Parliament won from the General seat, Firozepur and One member of Legislative Assembly from another general seat, Fazilka. Every single one of these MLAs MPs should be taught and informed about the provisions under SC/ST Act and other policies related to the Scheduled Castes community.
Congress has 1 MP, 21 MLA’s, AAP has 2 MPs and 9 MLAs and SAD-BJP has 2 MP and 4 MLAs, Kainth appealed to all these Scheduled Castes leaders to think above the party policies and work towards creating a better condition for the community they belong from and working for the development of the community. They should stand against the atrocities met with the community.
Kainth said “Congress MLAs should think above the party and advocate for the implementation of the SC/ST 2015 Amendment. Every Punjabi and further more, every Indian should participate in the ‘Bharat Bandh’ and every shopkeeper, trader etc should observe the bandh. Its my humble appeal that the Bandh should be observed peacefully.”
