In a significant development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for Curtailment of tenure of Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP:92) as Director General, National Security Guard (NSG) and has approved the inter-cadre deputation of Nalin Prabhat, a 1992-batch IPS officer from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, to the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) Cadre.

The deputation will be initially for a period of three years, starting from the date he joins the AGMUT Cadre, or until further orders, whichever comes first.

The authorities have been requested to relieve Prabhat from his current duties immediately to facilitate his transition to the AGMUT Cadre. This move has been sanctioned in relaxation of the standard inter-cadre deputation guidelines.
