NSS Camp at Mata Sahib Kaur Girls College of Education
The fourth day of N.S.S. camp being held at Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education Dhamo Majra, Patiala started with the Yoga Camp. While addressing the students Prof. Sukhdeep Kaur Jassar said that yoga is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in a healthy body. Afterwards students performed different Asanas of Yoga. While addressing the N.S.S. volunteers College Principal, Dr. Harmeet Kaur Anand said that Yoga helps to promote a balanced development of physical, mental and spiritual being. She further added that yoga is very important in our life as it helps us to attain a healthy body. She also stressed on the need to take nutritious and balanced diet.
Later on Gurjap Singh (ASI, Traffic Education Cell, Patiala) gave a lecture on importance of traffic rules in our daily life and the consequences of violating these rules. He also added that a ‘PATIALA TRAFFIC POLICE’ app has also been launched for the help of citizens of Patiala. He also made the students take a pledge to follow the traffic rules.
In the afternoon, Dr. Nidhi (Medicine Specialist, Community Health Centre, Model Town, Patiala) gave a lecture on ‘Drug Abuse’. She delineated the causes of drug abuse and the various diseases linked to it. In the evening Registration Camp for the students was organized by the Guidance & Placement Cell in collaboration with District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training, Patiala. Harsimran Kaur, Pritpal Singh and Gagandeep Singh of District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training, Patiala registered the B.Ed students which will help them in getting jobs in future. In the end saplings were planted in the campus with the help of Thapar College Treefie Group students Subeg Singh and Vikramjeet Singh . All the staff Members were also present during this camp.
