NTAS plays at SARAS Mela Draw Huge Crowd

Value-based, much entertaining plays by the energetic artists of the National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) Patiala, presented on the well decorated stage of Amphey Theatre at SARAS Mela concluding celebrations on concluding day drew good response from the huge crowd.

A fascinating “Punjabi Haas Raag programme, produced by noted theatre duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal consisiting of sensitizing plays “Lok Tantar-Ya- Vantantar”, “Sukki-Kukh”, “Kaka-Patak”, one-man presentations by Pran Sabharwal, Inderpreet Bhand,  folk dances and won much acclaim of the appreciative audience.

The chief guest of the session, noted educationist socialite Prof. B.S. Baluana, Chairman Bhai Gurdas Nursing College Sirhind Road, Patiala lauded Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amrinder Singh, Maharani Preneet Kaur former Union Minister of State for External Affairs for reviving Heritage & Saras Festivals after a long gap.

He congratulated Patiala D.C. Kumar Amit, ADC Shaukat Ali, SDM Geetika Singh, Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon, director Punjab Cultural Affairs department and Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan director NZCC for the grand success of Saras Mela. Prof. Baluana announced cash Award of Rs. 5100/- for NTAS in recognition of their long dedication and excellence theatre services. Prof. Gurbakshish Singh and senior programme officers of NZCC, Ravinder Sharma Panjola and Bhupinder Singh ably  conducted the programme.

NTAS President G.S. Kakkar and members honoured the chief guest Baluana, dignitaries and artists including Sunita-Pran Sabahrwal, Gopal Sharma, Jagdish Kumar, Gurmeent Kaur, Sweeti Rajput, Rajshri, Yuvraj Dhaliwal, Inderpreet Singh, Rajat Chauhan, Rahul, Pradeep Pandey and expressed gratitude to DSP Vikas Sabharwal-Kumad Sabharwal and Shyam Lal Navyug for facilitating arrangements.
