Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education, and Information & Public Relations, and MLA from Sri Anandpur Sahib, had recently launched the campaign to paint Guru Nagri Sri Anandpur Sahib in white. The objective of this campaign is to present a peaceful atmosphere for the visiting devotees and to showcase the sacred city in a uniform, clean, and serene appearance.
Bains stated that the Punjab Government is making various preparations to celebrate the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi Samagam of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on a grand scale. On this historic occasion, lakhs of devotees from every corner of Punjab as well as from other states will arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib. The Cabinet Minister informed that under this campaign, areas such as New Abadi, the bus stand, buildings around the Gurudwara Sahibs, and various government offices and structures are being freshly painted white to give them a renewed glow. He said that this work is progressing on a war footing, with several volunteer teams working day and night to ensure timely completion of preparation
Bains clarified that this whitewashing campaign is not limited to beautification alone, but also aims to further highlight the sacred environment of Sri Anandpur Sahib. Development works such as road repairs, installation of lights, strengthening of sanitation measures, and improvement of general amenities are also part of this extensive preparation process.

He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making every possible effort to make the Shaheedi Shatabdi Samagam truly historic. Providing devotees with convenient, clean, and modern facilities is the government’s priority. The city is therefore being specially prepared so that every visitor during the samagam has a superior and respectful experience.
Bains added that local residents, social service organizations, and various departments are also contributing to this campaign. Their collective efforts are giving Sri Anandpur Sahib a renewed appearance, which further elevates the remembrance of the Supreme Sacrifice of Guru Sahib.
He expressed confidence that when the Shaheedi Shatabdi Samagam commence, Sri Anandpur Sahib will emerge as a symbol of spirituality, truth, and peace.
