The institutional innovation Council of Government Bikram College of Commerce,Patiala organised a workshop on “Problem Solving and Idea Generation”on 22nd January 2024 under the guidance of the College Principal Prof. (Dr) Kusum Lata and according to the instructions issued by the Directorate of Higher Education,Govt.of Punjab.

Dr Reetu Kapoor (member IIC of the College) introduced the Resource Person Manik Raj Singla (Renowned and Experienced Career Counsellor and Consultant) to the students who shared his knowledge and experience on the multiple aspects and many steps involved in problem solving and Idea generation process. He further elaborated the out of the box thinking by giving them examples of success stories of Zomato, Lenskart and Boat. He also discussed about the best student entrepreneurship practices that can be adopted to enhance the student’s ability in solving critical problems.

He conducted an activity by taking the problems and solving them through various ideas generated by the students and also explained how to build on the idea to solve their problems. He also covered the topics like brainstorming, different thinking methods and tips to become future entrepreneurs.  85 students of the institute participated actively and interacted with the Resource Person.

The efforts of Dr Paramjit Kaur,Dr Jyoti Tirthani,Dr Rekha Rani and Mdm Gazal Aggarwal helped student gain valuable insights and skill of applying various learner techniques for effective problem solving.
