One week ISTE-AICTE sponsored FDP organized by BFCET successfully accomplished

Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology organized six days ISTE-AICTE sponsored faculty development program on “RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & ROBOTICS” .

One week ISTE-AICTE sponsored FDP organized by BFCET successfully accomplished, in which  97 faculty members and research scholars from engineering institutions registered from 13 states and 01 UT (Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujrat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Naidu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal & Chandigarh).

On the very first day of the program, our guest of honor, Col. B. Venkat, Director, Faculty Development Cell, AICTE, New Delhi and Prof Vijay D. Vaidya, Executive Secretary, ISTE congratulated BFCET team for getting selected to organize FDP and focused on future trend in AI & Robotics followed by another guest of honor, Dr. PK Khosla, Director, C-DAC Mohali who also congratulated and shared that this programme would ignite many minds to excel in the area of AI & Robotics. Keynote speaker, Dr.Valentina E. Balas, Professor, University of Arad Romania shared the need and importance of AI & Robotics and congratulated BFCET for organizing FDP and wished good luck and success.

Vice-chancellor of MRSPTU, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu inaugurated the event and shared his ideas and experiences on recent developments of Artificial intelligence and Robotics. He appreciated the rigorous efforts of management to enhance knowledge of faculty members regarding the implementation of AI & Robotics. Experts from prestigious institutes’ such as IIT Madras, IIT Ropar, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, NITTTR Chandigarh, Central University of Punjab Bathinda, Thapar Institute of Engineering &Technology Patiala, YMCA University Faridabad along with experts from industry delivered lectures to faculty members participating in the FDP.

On the first day of FDP, Prof Asokan T from IIT Madras delivered a lecture on Introduction to Robotics followed by a session on Robot Kinematics was conducted by Prof Ekta Singla, IIT Ropar. On day two of FDP, Prof SS Dhami from NITTTR Chandigarh presented an Expert Lecture on Sensors and Actuators in Robotics followed by a second session on Quantum Robotics by Prof Parvinder Singh from Central University Punjab, Bathinda followed by a third session of the day on Artificial Intelligence in Robotics by Prof. BS Pabla, NITTTR Chandigarh. On day three of FDP, Dr. Ashish from TIET, Patiala] addressed the faculty on the topic Robot Dynamics then Dr. Gaurav, Director of Magma Research and Consultancy Services gave an expert lecture on Machine Learning Algorithm and their use in Robotics.

In the last session of the day, Prof Suril V. Shah from IIT Jodhpur presented a lecture on Robot Motion Planning. On day four of FDP, Prof Amandeep Kaur from CUP Bathinda took a session on computer vision and Robotics followed by a second session by Dr. Gaurav on Platforms for Intelligent Robotic Applications. The last session of day four was taken by Mr. Abhishek Gupta, R&D Head, Tevatron Technologies Pvt on Challenges and Opportunities for AI & Robotics start-ups. On the fifth day of FDP, Prof Ashish Dutta from IIT Kanpur delivered a lecture on Biped Locomotion followed by the second session of the day on Control Aspects of Robot Manipulators by Prof Ashish Singla from TIET Patiala.

In the third session of day five, Prof Ekta Singla from IIT Ropar focused her talk on AI& Robotics in Industry 4.0. On day six of FDP, Prof Lalit Mohan Goyal from YMCA Faridabad took a session on AI in Smart Cities followed by a session on Emotional well-being by Dr. Sohan Chandel, Psychologist & Corporate Trainer.

One week ISTE-AICTE sponsored FDP organized by BFCET successfully accomplished. The online quiz was conducted and feedback was taken followed by a Valedictory session which was concluded by a brief report and vote of thanks by the FDP Co-ordinator.
