Naib Subedar Satnam Singh, who was awarded the Sena Medal for his exceptional bravery during Operation Sindoor was honored with a certificate of appreciation by Deputy Commissioner Barnala Harpreet Singh IAS.

Naib Subedar Satnam Singh (JC-434254X) hails from Nangal village of the district and is currently serving with the 30 Punjab Regiment in Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir).

Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh stated that Naib Subedar Satnam Singh was honored with the Sena Medal by the President of India on August 15, 2025, which is a matter of immense pride for the entire state and district.

He remarked that the courage shown by Naib Subedar Satnam Singh during the tasks assigned in Rajouri amid Operation Sindoor serves as a major inspiration for the younger generation.

Naib Subedar Satnam Singh was serving in Rajouri and was deployed as a commander to complete the assigned task during Operation Sindoor. Despite being injured in shelling, he remained steadfast. After four days after the completion of Operation Sindoor he was admitted to the Military Hospital in Rajouri for treatment.

On the occasion, Naib Subedar Satnam Singh shared his experiences in the Indian Army so far. He joined the Army as a Sepoy in 2001. He mentioned that his grandfather, Modan Singh served in the Indian Army and his father Surjit Singh had also served in the Indian Army. His brother Naib Subedar Basant Singh has also retired from the Indian Army.

Present on the occasion, among others, were SDM Barnala Dr. Ajitpal Singh Chahal, Assistant Commissioner Shivansh Rathi, Commander Dilpreet Singh Kang (Retd.), District Defense Services Welfare Officer Barnala, Hasanpreet Bhardwaj and the entire village panchayat of Nangal.
