OPS in Punjab-six finance officers of Punjab govt to study other states Old Pension Scheme modules

Punjab government has constituted three teams of six finance department officers to look into methods adopted by Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan to revert to the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees.
These teams, constituted by the state Finance Department, will assess the OPS of other states to know what kind of mechanism/legislation should be prepared to implement it and will visit Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh and prepare their report before June 10,2023 and submit the same to principal secy finance, Punjab govt.
Interestingly, Punjab government had issued a notification to implement the OPS on November 20 last year but methods are being studied now after around 6-7 months .
The government had then claimed that about 1.75 lakh employees would get direct benefit of the OPS.
