Orientation Program Organized by Punjabi University Physics department for its Honours Students

Department of Physics, Punjabi University, Patiala has organized an orientation program to academically orient newly admitted students in B.Sc. (Physics Honours) Part-1. Prof. Anup Thakur, Head of the Department during his welcome speech, encouraged the students to study science diligently and become possessors of rational thinking.
Dr. Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal introduced the new students about the university and the department. Department of Physics has rich heritage of research and academics. Materials Science, Radiation Physics, Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Atmospheric Physics are the main areas for R & D activities.
Department has MoUs for R & D activities with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and other premier institutes. Students, who have been admitted for undergraduate and post graduate degrees, will get exposure of research activities, which will play a pivotal role for overall development of the students.
At this occasion, teachers and non-teaching staff members were present. Newly admitted students have also visited university library after the orientation program.
