Other side of Patiala police-conducts literary event; Ninder Ghugianvi’s Travelogue ‘Dekhi Teri Walaitt’ released

Patiala Police in a unique initiative, organized a literary function at Police Line here.  On this occasion, the Chairman of Punjab School Education Board, Dr.  Yograj, SSP  Patiala Vikram Jeet Duggal and renowned Orthopedist Dr.  Hardeep Singh Mann jointly unveils the new book of noted Punjabi writer Ninder Ghugianvi, ‘Dekhi Teri Walait’ based on the latter’s UK travelogue.

Explaining the purpose of organizing this literary event at the police line, SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said that this was an attempt to link the hectic life of the police with literature. Addressing  specifically, Ninder Ghugianvi, who was used to give lectures to the trainee officers at Police Training Academy, Phillaur and Civil Officers at other places, he asked him to make the subject of his next 50th book, interesting incidents and narratives related to police  Officers and jawans so that they could be able to get information about the hectic life and experiences of the officers of the older generation.

Duggal, who has also translated many of Ninder Ghugianvi’s widely read literary work into English and Telugu, said it was not necessary for a person to become a scholar by studying in renowned universities and academies, more important to follow a man like Ninder in  Ph.D. by scholars by writing thesis on his work.

Describing Ninder Ghugianvi as a committed writer, Punjab School Education Board Chairman, Dr. Yograj said that his literary insight is amazing being the established author of 49 books at such a young age.  Throwing light on the literary quality of the writer, he said that he has incorporated his life incidents into literary form in such a smart way that everyone likes to read his narratives. Terming him a great man which is far from the habit of exaggerating or hiding anything, he wished him a great success for future too. He said that this book of Ninder is worth reading and  has interesting narratives.

Dr. Hardeep Singh Mann described Ninder as a multi-talented person. He said that although he met him a day before the release of the book, his personality did not make him realize that he was meeting him for the first time.  He wished that Ninder, while moving forward in the service of mother tongue Punjabi, would soon dedicate his 50th book to the Punjabi readers.

Shedding light on his literary journey, Ninder Ghugianvi thanked the district police for organizing the book launch ceremony.  He also narrated interesting but true stories about the life of Punjabis who migrated there.  He especially thanked  Duggal for taking him beyond the Punjabi readership to the readers of other languages by getting translated his work to English and Telugu.He also expressed gratitude to Dr.  Yograj and Dr.  Hardeep Singh Mann and other literary persons for their encouragement by participating in this book launch  event.
