Oxygen Generation Plant inaugurated at DMW Hospital, Patiala

A PSA type Oxygen generation plant was inaugurated by S. N. Dubey Principal Chief Administrative Officer, Diesel Loco Modernisation Works, a unit of Indian Railways situated at Patiala in the presence of CMO Dr. Bharat Lal and Head of Departments of all the other departments on 01st October, 2021 at DMW Railway Hospital, Patiala. DMW Railway Hospital had the pleasure of august presence of President Women Welfare Organisation (WWO) Smt. Lalita Dubey and other members of WWO. Among others this event was also witnessed by members of Staff Council.
Capacity of plant is 30Nm3/hr (500LPM). It has monitoring and controlling facility for Oxygen quality. It achieves an oxygen purity of 93%±2%. In case of low Oxygen purity, it is provided with vent valves. Outlet gas pressure from this PSA unit is 5 Bar g. It has Oxygen receiver vertical type which can store 25000L of gas. It releases oxygen at ambient temperature.
For added safety it has been provided with an automatic switch over to Oxygen supply from jumbo cylinders in case of plant failure due to any cause. This plant also has alarm to indicate low oxygen pressure. It does not allow filling of oxygen storage tank until it has the recommended purity level of Oxygen that is 93%±2%.
This plant will ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply to the DMW hospital. It will also prepare this hospital for the possible third wave of Covid-19.
Dubey appreciated the efforts made by all the departments to have this plant installed at DMW Hospital.
