Pad Woman of India strikes a goal at Patiala

Aman Preet Joint Commisioner in New Delhi , popularly known as The Pad Woman of India today reached at Village Bakshiwala,Patiala along with Aarti Verma ,SSPO posted in Patiala to create awareness on menstrual health .
It is mentioned here that Aman Preet has earned nationwide appreciation for her notable work toward the issue of menstrual health and hygiene for women living in suburbs and villages. She has, along with volunteers of Sangini Saheli Trust by Priyal Bhardwaj based in Delhi , held numerous large and small drives wherein sanitary napkins are provided to the underprivileged women.
They also educate women on basic health and hygiene that needs to be maintained during menstruation. Around 12.5 lakh sanitary pads have been distributed in 17 Indian States .Aarti Verma,SSPO , along with the volunteers of Power House Youth Club has provided over 5000 packets of Sanitary Napkins to women in Patiala alone , with continuous distribution drives in Slums and Villages under the drive started by Sangini Saheli .
The distribution done today at Patiala was a special one as today Aarti Verma decided to celebrate her birthday amongst the underprivileged women and children of Village Bakshiwala, Patiala with the funds she has raised for her special day .This village is renowned of it’s age old tradition of engaging in ‘Shanivala’ practices and running their livelihood solely on the basis of ‘Bakshish’. The village, has a small population who follow rustic and ancient ways of living even today. Considering their independence of utmost importance, people at Bakshiwala don’t let outsiders in easily , but with the help of Power House Youth Club ,team of Sangini Saheli was surprisingly welcomed with open arms.
Being an ex district level hockey player herself, Aman Preet has always found a special place for sports in her heart and to commemorate Dhyan Chand Ji on National Sports Day , 2020 Aman Preet along with her team reached here .
A sanitary pad distribution drive was held for the women of Bakshiwala. They were also educated with the basic ways of maintaining menstrual hygiene. Aman Preet , , Aarti Verma ,SSPO and Kamaldeep Singh also took an effort to educate people about the ongoing COVID – 19 pandemic and listed various ways of keeping oneself safe and distributed masks also .
This distribution drive was held by Sangini Saheli and Power House Youth Club volunteers Jatwinder Grewal, Parminder Bhalwan, Hardeep Singh Harry, Gurdeep Singh, and Rupinder Kaur .
