Panjab University student’s council election results stun everyone; big win for AAP’s youth wing

The student wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) has captured the post of President of the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC), for which the elections was held today.
Ayush Khatkar of Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) won the post of president defeating NSUI and ABVP candidates. Ayush secured a total of 2712 votes. For the first time in the student union elections, CYSS has defeated big parties like ABVP, NSUI. The official announcement is to be made soon by the university.
Parvesh Bishnoi of INSO won the post of secretary. HS Bath of NSUI elected as vice president and Manish Bhura of NSUI as joint secretary has been elected.
Isha Moudgil of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, has been elected as the President resident. Along with Isha, Taranjit Kaur was elected as Vice President, Soni of as Secretary and Tanisha Sethi as Joint Secretary.
At SD College, Gurbaj Singh of akali dal students wing SOI defeated Hrithik Pappu Shukla, and was elected the President. Gurbaj Singh secured 2072 votes. Apart from this, Pragat Singh, a candidate from CISF, has become the president of Sri Guru Gobind Singh College in Sector 26. Himanshu Arora of SIO has also bagged the president’s post at PGGC, Sector 11. Gautam Sahota has become the president of Government College 46.
Panjab University student’s council election results stun everyone; big win for AAP’s youth wing. The elections were held after a break of two years owing to the pandemic. As per the available information a total 169 polling booths were set up in Panjab University and was held in a total of 78 departments.
RESULTS
President: Ayush Khatkar has got 2712 votes. On the other hand, Bhawanjot Kaur of SFS got 864 votes, Gurjit Singh of PSU (Lalkar) 411, Gurvinder Singh of NSUI 1582, Harish Gujjar of ABVP 2052, Jodh Singh of SATH 382, Madhav Sharma of SOI 1336, PUSU’s Shivali got 408 votes. At the same time, 172 students have voted for NOTA.
Vice President: Harshdeep Singh Bath is the Vice President of NSUI. He has got 3514 votes. HIMSU+HPSU joint candidate Aseem Charas got 3275 votes and PUSU’s Samarbir Singh Kamboj got 2252 votes. 809 students have voted for NOTA.
Secretary: Parvesh Bishnoi of INSO has won the secretary post. He has got 4275 votes. On the second number, Sagar Baba of NSUI got 3131 votes. Saksham Garg of PUSU stood third and got 1390 votes. Apart from these, independent candidate Vishwajit Singh got 265 votes. 777 students used NOTA.
Joint Secretary: Manish Bura of NSUI won the post of Joint Secretary. He got 3151 votes. Apart from them, Bhavya of ISA+PUHH got 2410 votes, INSO’s Amarkant Pradhan got 1376, PUSU’s Aatish Sharma 1165, SATH’s Navpreet Kaur got 985 and independent candidate Deepak Kumar Meena got only 84 votes. At the same time, 692 students used NOTA.
