Paris Olympics Update: another Bronze Medal for India

Aman Sehrawat won his wrestling match against Puerto Rican player Cruz to win an Olympic Bronze medal in the men’s 57kg wrestling category.
21-year-old Aman Sehrawat became India’s seventh wrestler to win an Olympic medal. Aman Sehrawat hails from Birohar, Jhajjar district, Haryana, where he initially took part in mud wrestling. Inspired by Sushil Kumar’s silver medal win in the 2012 Summer Olympics, he enrolled at the Chhatrasal Stadium in North Delhi at the age of 10.Both of his parents died due to different medical conditions when he was 11 years old.
This is the fifth consecutive Olympics where India has won a wrestling medal. India’s previous medals in wrestling came through KD Jadhav (bronze in 1952), Sushil Kumar (bronze in 2008 and silver in 2012), Yogeshwar Dutt (bronze in 2012), Sakshi Malik (bronze in 2016), Bajrang Punia (bronze in 2020) and Ravi Dahiya (2020).
