Surjit Singh Kohli 73 years old, father of aam aadmi party MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli died today after along illness. A close confident of the MLA has confirmed the news.
The cremation will be held on August 31,2024 at 4:00 pm at Bir Ji Cremation Ground, Rajpura Road, Patiala.
Surjit Singh Kohli was remained cabinet minister in Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP government. He represented Patiala in Punjab vidhan sabha. He won the seat as shiromani akali dal candidate. He was also remained president of the Patiala (urban) unit of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
Surjit Singh Kohli had won the Patiala (urban) seat for the SAD in 1997 and remained a cabinet minister. After that, he had lost thrice to Captain Amarinder Singh, who was ever time the CM Candidate of the Congress.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. His elder son Ajitpal Singh Kohli is AAP MLA from Patiala urban and younger son Gurjit Singh Kohli is a BJP leader.
