Patiala administration crackdown on unauthorised Travel Agencies, IELTS Centres ; two centres sealed

Taking strong action against illegal travel agencies, IELTS Centres and Consultancy Services Patiala Police along with Civil Administration formed joint Raid teams comprising of SP City Patiala Md Sarfraz Alam, SDM Patiala Dr Ismat Vijay Singh and DSP City I&II Sanjiv Singla and Jaswinder Singh Tiwana.
These travel agencies and related firms are regulated by Punjab Travel Professionals’ Regulation Act, 2012. A checklist was prepared and verification of Travel agencies were done as per this checklist.
In today’s joint operation, total of 86 such travel agencies, IELTS Centres and Consultancy firms were identified to be raided by the joint raid team.
Offices of Titan Visa Services and Lawbrella Consultancy Services were temporarily sealed on the spot by the administration as they were not able to produce any relevant documents.
Further reports are being compiled and actions against them as per law will be taken shortly.

A raiding party officer said “earlier also joint raid was conducted on 8th July against fifteen travel agencies. Final report has been sent to Competent Authority i.e., Deputy Commissioner, Patiala Sakshi Sawhney to cancel their licenses following due process of law.”
