The Patiala district administration successfully carried out a joint rescue operation this morning at Samana and safely brought down Bhai Gurjit Singh Khalsa from the tower. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, with active support from the district administration, police, and Punjab Fire Services.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal stated that following the implementation of the “Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act, 2026” by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Tower Morcha Samana had approached the administration to facilitate the safe rescue of Bhai Khalsa. He added that the administration subsequently mobilized various teams, including Punjab Fire Services, and also sought technical assistance from the Indian Army.
The operation was carried out in the presence of ADC (G) Simarpreet Kaur, SP (H) Vaibhav Chaudhary, Nodal Officer-cum-SDM Samana Richa Goyal, and DSP Fateh Singh Brar. The rescue was executed by the Punjab Fire Services team led by Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Harinderpal Singh.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the safety and well-being of Bhai Khalsa remained the top priority throughout the operation. Immediately after being brought down, a medical team led by SMO Samana Dr. Nandini Sharma and Assistant Professor Dr. Parminder Pal Singh from Government Medical College conducted a thorough health check-up and provided necessary medical assistance.
The Tower Morcha Samana expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab Government for the successful execution of the operation. They also appreciated the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and SSP Varun Sharma, along with the coordinated efforts of SDM Richa Goyal, DSP Fateh Singh Brar, Punjab Fire Services, and the medical team.
Nodal Officer-cum-SDM Samana Richa Goyal informed that the rescue operation was successfully completed under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner. She further stated that a Turn Table Ladder (TTL) had been requisitioned by the Fire Brigade from the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana for the operation.
Providing details, Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Harinderpal Singh, along with Fire Station Officers Rajinder Kaushal and Rajinder Singh, stated that the trained rescue team (first responders) of Punjab Fire Services reached a height of approximately 180 feet using the Turn Table Ladder (TTL). From that point, the team used harnesses, pulleys, and ropes to reach Bhai Khalsa at around 150 feet, secured him properly, and then safely brought him down up to 125 feet using a harness system before shifting him into the hydraulic cabin of the TTL.

During the operation, Sub Fire Officer Raman Kumar and his team members—Firemen Kamaljeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Amandeep Singh, and Krishan Kumar—utilized full-body harnesses, stretchers, pulleys, ropes, non-slip safety gloves, high-voltage safety systems, and wireless communication sets to ensure a safe and controlled rescue. The TTL operators, Ravi Shankar and Amaninder Singh, handled the advanced hydraulic system with technical precision.
