Patiala district RSETI Advisory Committee meeting held

A meeting of District Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI) Advisory Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Isha Singal, PCS at SBI RSETI PATIALA.

The DLRAC meeting was organized to review the working of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Patiala which is being sponsored by Govt of India, Ministry of Rural Development, Punjab Government and State Bank of India. The Annual activity report of RSETI, Patiala for the year 2021-22 was also released by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Dev) Isha Singal, PCS, ADC (Dev.), Patiala.

The chairperson of DRLAC Isha Singal, PCS, ADC (Dev.) Patiala expressed her happiness on excellent work done by RSETI, Patiala during 2021-22. She said that the MORD Govt. of India has awarded maximum marks to Rseti, Patiala during the Annual Grading of Year 2020-21.She said that RSETI, Patiala is No.1 Institute in Punjab.

Speaking on the occasion Charanjit Singh, SDR Punjab, said that the main objective of RSETI is to channelize the rural youth power for productive activity which is critical for nation building. RSETIs have been able to positively influence the mindset of rural youth through skill development trainings. Positive mindsets, skills acquired in the training and confidence have enabled them to establish their enterprises and create many more jobs for others. Keeping the said objective in view, under the guidelines of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India and National Centre for Excellence of RSETIs, Bangalore, RSETI Patiala was set up on 01.11.2009. To create awareness about RSETI & to motivate and select right candidates for training, we conduct Entrepreneur Awareness Programmes (EAPs) in different villages of Patiala district.

Speaking on the occasion Lead District Manager of SBI  Pritpal Singh Anand told that RSETI, Patiala is doing excellent work for employment generation. He said that they have organized 122 EAPs from 01.04.2021 to 31.03.2022 . Pritpal Singh Anand  told that during the year 2021-22, we have trained 747 candidates through 24 batches up to 31.03.2022 against the budgeted target of 700 candidates and 25 batches. From 01.04.2021 to 31.03.2022, 286 candidates have been provided with Bank Finance & 532 candidates have been settled.

The meeting was also attended by DDM from NABARD, Deputy Director EGT, GM DIC, Principal ITI, District Program Officer and Director of RSETI, Patiala Rajiv Sirhindi.

The Director of SBI RSETI Patiala Rajiv Sirhindi told that the sensitization about RSETI is also being done through quarterly DCC, BLBC meetings and also through meetings arranged by NRLM. He said that they have also conducted the Meetings with ITI Principals and Placement officers of the District to sensitize the activity of RSETI in the District. Till 31.03.2022, 238 batches have been completed there by imparting training to 5953 trainees in different activities. The overall settlement ratio of RSETI is 73.08 % & credit linkage ratio is 41%. The rural youth in the age group of 18-45 are eligible for training. Trainees are provided free of cost training by competent trainers. Follow up is made with trained candidates up to two years for effective employment generation. The registration of candidates has also made online through google form & QR Code.
